BookCrossing Update
Since the article in the last newsletter, Bookcrossing membership has busted the 400,000 limit (actually more than 420,000 members at the time of writing) with over 2,700,000 books registered. That’s a lot of books roaming free!
Whilst Bookcrossing is an international phenomenon, there’s a lot happening at the local level too. We meet up to swap books, release techniques and gossip at Rosie O’Grady’s, the Cherry Tree in Steventon and the George and Dragon in Upton. All three places have an OBCZ (Official Book Crossing Zone), so if you happen to be passing, why not drop in and see if any books take your fancy? Or alternatively, release a book of your own there. The next meeting is on Saturday 14th January at the George and Dragon (noon onwards), which is probably before you receive this newsletter, but if you want to hear about other meetings in this area then come and join the OxonBCUK Yahoo group at http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/OxonBCUK/.
